Certified Lighting Designer

Amy Jensen

let's connect

As American Wholesale Lighting’s Certified Lighting Designer, Amy Jensen brings a rare blend of technical expertise, creative vision, and client advocacy to every project. With a master’s degree in Architectural Lighting Design from Wismar University in Germany and professional certifications including Certified Lighting Designer (CLD), Amy leads AWL’s design department, expanding the company’s capabilities to offer full in-house lighting design.

Amy’s path to lighting design began in high school working part-time at AWL, followed by a bachelor’s degree in architecture. After an injury redirected her from a planned architecture master’s program, she discovered architectural lighting design and found her perfect fit. Her education and experience allow her to speak the language of architects, engineers, and contractors, creating a seamless bridge between creative vision and technical execution.

From large-scale commercial programs to custom, design-heavy builds, Amy is known for personally guiding projects from concept through completion. She works closely with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure both form and function are achieved. “I listen first,” Amy says. “Some clients want to be part of every decision, others want us to handle everything behind the scenes. My goal is to adapt so the process feels easy, and the outcome exceeds expectations.”

Active in the global lighting community, Amy has presented at international conferences and attends major industry events such as IALD Enlighten Europe, Leducation in New York, and manufacturer showcases in Las Vegas. Her knowledge of emerging technology, from the end-of-life cycle of LED to AI’s role in lighting, helps AWL stay ahead of industry shifts.
