As Director of Sales Operations at American Wholesale Lighting, Eric Toussaint oversees the systems and coordination behind AWL's sales organization. He brings deep technical fluency in lighting design along with a practical command of what it takes to move a project from concept through contracting and into the field.
Eric spent the early part of his career developing turnkey lighting projects for commercial and industrial spaces, auditing and designing for robotic production floors, steel mills, data centers, global headquarters buildings, universities, and federal installations. Most recently he served as Vice President of Development and Engineering at an energy services company, building the teams behind EV charging, solar and battery storage alongside traditional HVAC, controls, and lighting scope. That work culminated in a 2025 award-winning project he led development on, highlighted by his custom specification of exterior luminaires engineered for the harsh environment and preservation requirements of Death Valley National Park.
What drew Eric to AWL was a culture he recognized immediately. "The team culture at AWL gravitates toward never leaving a client with a partial or 'mostly good' solution," he says. "AWL knows lighting. I am hoping to continue building into that legacy."

Eric paddleboards with his family at reservoirs around Northern California and on the American River, and turns to woodworking projects once fall arrives.
